VB-111

VB-111 is the first dual-action, anti-angiogenic and Vascular Disruptive Agent (VDA) to use VTS™, our proprietary platform technology, for cancer therapy. VB-111 is an IV-administered VDA that works in a manner akin to a “biological knife” to destroy tumor vasculature, thus cutting off the blood vessels feeding the tumor.

• Preclinical Insights - Preclinical pharmacological and toxicology studies on VB-111 have shown tissue specificity for the tumor tissue, no significant damage to normal non-cancerous tissues or to the normal blood vessels in the body, and a more than 90 percent reduction in metastatic lung cancer model with one injection, as well as similar efficacy in other tumor models.
• Phase 1 Clinical Trial Complete - 27 patients have been treated with a single administration of VB-111. The results indicate that VB-111 has an excellent safety profile and promising clinical efficacy. No dose limiting toxicity was identified and no effects on liver function or major changes in complete blood count were observed in the Phase 1/2 trial.
• Phase 2 Clinical Trials - In the second half of 2010, we look forward to beginning clinical trials using VB-111 for thyroid cancer.
