Prof. Dror Harats, M.D.

 

Prof. Harats founded VBL in 2000 based on more than 20 years of research in atherosclerosis, vascular biology and lipid metabolism. He is the Director of the Bert W. Strassburger Lipid Centre at Chaim Sheba Medical Centre - Tel Hashomer and Chairman of its Institute Review Board and has consulted with major pharmaceutical companies. Prof Harats is an M.D. graduate of the Hadassah Medical School, Jerusalem, Israel, and has carried out post-doctoral work at University of California, San Francisco. He is also a Professor of Medicine in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Biochemistry at the Sackler Faculty of Medicine of Tel Aviv University.

Emmanuel Elalouf, Pharm.D, M.B.A.

 

Dr. Elalouf joined VBL upon its inception. His focus at VBL lies in corporate strategy, strategic alliances and operations. He brings 13 years of industry experience in business development and strategic planning of biotech companies to VBL. Dr. Elalouf received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Pharmacy, Paris. He also holds an M.B.A. from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Prof. Jacob  George, M.D.

 

Prof. George joined VBL upon its inception, and together with Prof. Harats is a co-inventor of VBL's Lecinoxoid platform technology. He has performed extensive research in the cardiovascular and immunological fields. Prof. George received his M.D. from the Technion School of Medicine. He is the Chief of Cardiology in the Kaplan Medical Center and a full professor of cardiology, Sackler Faculty of Medicine of Tel Aviv University.

Ari Manoach

 

Mr. Manoach joined VBL in 2007. Mr. Manoach has 17 years of financial experience in high-growth technology companies as well as with large corporations and investment banking. Mr. Manoach holds three academic degrees from the Tel Aviv University in economics (B.A.), law (L.L.B.) and business and economics (M.A.).

Eyal Breitbart, Ph.D.

 

Dr. Breitbart joined VBL in 2001. He has extensive experience in both cancer and immune-inflammatory research as well as in biochemical, immunological and molecular biology methods and new product development. Dr. Breitbart holds a Ph.D. from Bar-Ilan University, Israel and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Mass., U.S.

Yael Cohen, M.D.

 

Dr. Cohen joined VBL in 2008 and has been working in the pharmaceutical industry since 1999. Prior to joining VBL, she served as Vice President of Clinical Development in Gamida Cell Ltd, as the Medical Director of the Israeli subsidiary at Merck & Co., and then as a Clinical Scientist in Drug Development at Merck Research Labs in New Jersey. Dr. Cohen has extensive experience in both early- and late-stage clinical development and negotiations with regulatory agencies worldwide.  Dr. Cohen holds an M.D. from the Sackler Medical School at Tel Aviv University and completed her residency in internal medicine at Sheba Medical Center in Israel, where she also worked as a Senior Physician.

Naamit Sher, Ph.D.

 

Dr. Sher Joined VBL in 2006. She was previously Head of QC Laboratories, Operations Division at Teva, and QC/QA Director at InterPharm, Subsidiary of Ares-Serono gaining 15 years of drug development and regulatory experience. Dr. Sher holds a Ph.D. from the Hebrew University, Israel and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Rutgers University.
